I hope everyone was able to enjoy the hot and dry summer, maybe even enjoy a little outdoor wilderness experience. My highlights were taking our two boys (18 months & 3 years) canoeing to Algonquin Park a couple of times. Especially the laughs we had as my youngest joined me on the waterslides at High Falls.
This year we will be running outdoor ed at grade 10, 11 & 12. The grade 10's will complete a day trip by canoeing from downtown Ottawa back to the school, as well as, a hiking trip in Frontenac Provincial Park. The grade 11's are heading to Algonquin Park to canoe the Barron River route and the grade 12's will be going to Palmer's Rapids to give moving water a try, as well as, a 3-day wintercamp in January.
This along with an orienteering meet, rock climbing, paddle making, wintercamp overnight and a xc ski trip promises to be a great year.
Let's get started I say!!
