Since I didn't manage to find my permission form on time I only got to see one of the movies shown at the film festival. That movie was Paddle to Seattle. Paddle to Seattle is the story of two friends who travel by handmade kayak from Alaska all the way to Seattle. The journey lasts 97 days and spans 1300 miles.

Along there travels they encounter grizzly bears, intense weather conditions, recalled ham, As well as small coastal towns and lighthouse keepers. This movie shows how hard it is to be able to survive out in the wild (even with the mayonnaise gps) but it also shows how rewarding of an experience it could be. In the two friends 97 days of travel they remained optimistic despite all. I believe that due to there optimism the journey was a much more positive experience for them.

I liked that this film was very real. The two friends in the movie took on a very challenging task and were determined to see it through. As with every adventure the trip had it's highs and lows but the ultimate high was completing the journey in itself. It seemed like the two of them learned a lot about themselves throughout the trip.

At the Reel Paddling Film Festival we watched a bunch of short films on kayaking and Canoing. It showed different types of kayaking in certain terrain and weather. The canoe film showed us a totally different type of canoing. I found the canoe film very funny because it was completely different then what I thought canoing was.

My favorite film was “Paddle to Seattle”, it was two friends who set out on a difficult task and pushed each other to keep going. Their goal was to kayak from Alaska to Seattle, which was 1300 miles. They encountered wild animals and very harsh weather. Stopping from time to time to get a little rest and to wait out weather, they met some interesting people. The entire trip was 97 days.

I found the Reel Paddling Film Festival a very good experience overall. I would definitely go back to it again or help host it.

At first the movie didn't really catch my attention but as the movie went by it caught my interest because it had some
amusing scene. 4stars out of 5

The REEL Paddling Film Festival was a pretty good time. The first few films caught your attention by being funny; I now know not to eat poison ivy and rub it on your eyes to get rid of bee stings.
As the day went on the films got progressively similar but remained entertaining. It was interesting seeing the vast culture in the world of canoeing and outdoor adventuring. I even learned about a new sport called freestlyle canoeing which is all about grace and beauty. It was a fun day and I had a good time watching the films with my friends and fellow classmates.

At the film festival we watched a a lot of films based on canoeing, kayaking, extreme free style kayaking, and a story of two people journey along the west coast of America. All of these films had there own charm about them that made them all enjoyable.
The kayaking film was very inspirational. They all put them selves against nature and won, while making it look easy. The extreme kayaking film where they were doing tricks off a ramp into the water was by far my favorite. It looked like the most fun and that looks like an aspect of kayaking that i can see myself enjoying and having the most fun with. The films were very enjoyable and i was very impressed with the festival overall and would definitely suggest this festival to any outdoors men.
